Why is the Bodywise Clinic working with a retreat in Sri Lanka?

We've been there, we've seen the benefits, and we feel that Irish people will also love visiting Sri Lanka as much as we have. This is truly a life-changing experience that the Irish media rarely talks about.
We've partnered with Thaulle, our resort of choice, for a long-term relationship. We'd like to foster the relationship between these two small islands with larger neighbours. Just like Ireland, Sri Lanka is a welcoming place. We hope to spread the word and offer a unique experience to discerning Irish health-conscious travel fans.

Where is Sri Lanka?

Sri Lanka is an island country located off the southern coast of India. It is renowned for its natural beauty, stunning beaches, luxurious resorts, and its ancient culture and traditions. Sri Lanka is also home to some of the best ayurveda retreats in the world.

What is Ayurveda?

The practice of Ayurveda dates back to the third millennium BCE; it is a holistic approach to health that focuses on balance and harmony. This ancient healing system is based on the belief that all things are connected—people, plants, animals, and even the earth itself—and seeks to restore balance between these elements by using natural herbs, minerals, foods and spices.

Why Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is the ancient Hindu system of holistic healing and the perfect antidote to modern life. Ayurveda is based on the principle of balance, and its goal is to create balance in the body, mind, and spirit.

Why Sri Lanka?

The tropical climate of Sri Lanka makes it perfect for relaxing at an Ayurvedic wellness retreat: warm temperatures encourage deep breathing while allowing muscles to relax during massage sessions or yoga classes; fresh air encourages deep breathing while allowing muscles to relax during massage sessions or yoga classes; the warm but fresh air from the Indian Ocean promotes healthy skin.

Sri Lanka is a country with a rich history, and it's also a destination that offers an incredible array of beautiful sights for the eyes and soul. And while the island is known for its beaches, beautiful sunsets, and lush greenery, it's also home to several Ayurvedic wellness retreats where you can receive treatments that will leave you feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.

Isn't Sri Lanka very far away. How do I get there?

It might be far, but the journey doesn't have to be a hassle. You can fly with some of the world's best airlines (Emirates, Turkish Airlines, and Etihad) with a short stopover. The total journey time is around 14 hours which is just slightly longer than a single flight from London to Singapore or Dublin to San Francisco

Is it dangerous in Sri Lanka?

According to Numbeo, Sri Lanka ranks 91st out of 142 countries in the world for crime (the higher the better). Safer than Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and Ireland in terms of crime rates. It's a safe, welcoming country loved by all visitors
